On a Winter Afternoon

I go to college three days a week and the rest of the time I spend at home. Being able to work from home is both a blessing and a curse for me. I end up spending half the week locked in my house and it’s been making me feel so sluggish and I tend to make the work that I have to do drag out twice as long as it needs to.

On Thursday my parents’ car had to go in for a service and I was faced with two options. Get on a bus or walk home from college which takes about 50-60 minutes. Even though I didn’t really want to walk I 100% did not want to step foot on a bus so I decided to walk. It was freezing cold but it was so great. I had almost an hour to myself, left alone with my thoughts on a crisp Winter afternoon. As previous blogposts also state, I over think everything and it can leave me feeling so trapped. This walk gave me time to think about the future and also made me appreciate where I live so much. The buildings, the open spaces and the peace and quiet that I’ve never noticed much before.

I’ve made a pact to myself that I’m going to get out of the house and go for a walk every single day. I’ve been thinking about the Summer a little bit and although I feel perfectly happy with my body I want to tone up a little so I’ll slowly begin running soon too.

Exercise is so great for both your body and your mind. It gives me time to think about my dreams and start putting my plans into action. I’ve started working on something super super exciting that I can hopefully share in the next couple of months. It’s made me feel so motivated and I just feel very happy and lucky at the moment. Lucky that I have free time that others don’t have to work on projects and lucky to be surrounded by supportive people that never let me think that my dreams are too big.
