As you may know, fashion is one of my favourite things. I love putting outfits together, I love researching trends and I love buying clothes. So, when the lovely PR from Intu Derby invited me to attend their Autumn/Winter Pop-up Fashion Event I didn’t hesitate to accept. I wasn’t entirely sure what the day would entail but I booked my train and travelled to Derby where I met up with Emma from carpediememmie before the event. We walked from the station to the centre and quickly spotted where the event would be taking place.
It was slightly nerve wracking when we saw a red carpet area cordoned off with the sign ‘VIP area’ at the side. Me, a VIP? I’m not sure, but it was so nice to have our own area to sit and enjoy the shows. The purpose of the show is to help showcase the range of fashion brands throughout the centre and also to give the audience outfit inspiration for the popular trends of the season. We sat and watched four of the shows where the models danced and showed off the pieces. It’s safe to say I fell in love with many of the pieces on display and surprise surprise, the Topshop and River Island outfits left me wanting EVERYTHING.
It was kind of difficult trying to photograph the outfits as the models were dancing but I managed to get a few shots that I really like so I hope that you like them too.
We then ventured out to Primark in the pouring rain and many lols were had. As soon as we finished there it was time for me to hop on the train home again. The journey is super easy but my second train was delayed for about 40 minutes so I was sat freezing cold and soaking wet on the platform for what felt like a lifetime. I did snap this photo on the platform though.
I had such a lovely day and was super grateful when handed two really generous goody bags from different brands within the centre. There’s so much that I’ve decided to share them in a different post so that will be coming up in the next couple of days. Thank you Intu Derby for hosting such a lovely event and for the hospitality. I won’t hesitate to come back to do some hardcore spending, probably before Christmas.
