Distressed Mom Jeans | Eastmidsmeetup Outfit

August 17, 2016

Following on from my previous post that was all about the #EastMidsMeetup, I thought I’d share my outfit on my blog. A huge thank you to HannahInternational for taking these photos, her blog is linked HERE. So, here’s the outfit I wore I hope you like it.

Sunglasses – Rayban Mirrored Club Masters
Jacket – Missguided
T-shirt – Newlook
Jeans – River Island
Shoes – Vans Old Skool Skate
Bag – Topshop
For the past few months I’ve been on a mission to find a pair of Mom jeans that didn’t look like a potato sack on me. I was pretty much at the end of my tether after trying on pair after pair in Topshop, Levi’s and the likes. A couple of weeks ago I was in town with my family and as I walked into River Island I spotted a pair on a mannequin. I tried them on in store and FELL IN LOVE, they’re so comfy and so me. They’re not the most flattering jeans as I find skinny jeans the best for everything I wear however, these jeans being high waisted make my stupidly short lower body look more in proportion (lol, yay for short legs). These jeans are super distressed and I ended up cutting chunks of frayed knee rips off because it did my head in, I do love how they look though.
The sunglasses have been on my face for the whole of the summer, they’re comfortable and add a little something to a super plain outfit. The missguided jacket and black Vans have pretty much featured in every outfit I’ve worn over the last couple of month. I just find that fit into my wardrobe seamlessly and add a slightly boyish edge to outfits like my culotte jumpsuit of a cute little playsuit.
You’ll definitely be seeing these jeans around for a while, I find they keep me cooler on a warm day than my Topshop Jamie Jeans but will also look perfect (and super cute) with an oversized knitted jumper and little ankle boots as Autumn/Winter come around.

I love this photo, I think it proves how much my confidence has grown since I started having my outfit photos taken for me by friends. I just have such a laugh with people that take my photos for me (Thanks Hannah and Sarah for making me lol while getting my outfit photos taken in front of the other 35+ bloggers that were over the road hahah)
