2017 Goals & 2016 Goals Review

January 1, 2017
Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog. Happy 2017! I hope you all had an amazing New Years Eve. So, in true ‘New Year, New Me’ style, I thought I’d set myself some goals for the coming year. I love setting myself goals and I did set myself quite a lot last year but I didn’t achieve all of them. I’m never hard on myself about achieving my New Year goals, it’s just nice to have something to aim for, yano?
(*learning). So, I may not have had my driving test yet but in 2016 I started driving lessons after putting it off for 3 years! I know it won’t be long until I’m on the road with my own car. yay!

Distinction* Distinction * Distinction – Not too shabby if I do say so myself (*insert sass emoji). But for real, I’m super proud of myself.

I’m currently still working for my Mum’s business and I still really enjoy it. We had very busy lead up to Christmas but all this experience is helping me gain experience with running a business.
I also started my own little business in the Summer and I’m super proud of it. It’s taken longer than I anticipated to get it started but I’m excited for the future.

Probably a strange one, but last year I decided that I wanted to wear makeup more regularly. I started being a bit more experimental with my makeup and will continue to be in this new year.

I visited a few different places this year. I love travelling around the UK a lot. I visited Northern Ireland to see my family. Me and my family spent a day at the beach, my Mum and I went to London to meet our family from Ireland for a few days. In the Summer holidays we took the dogs to the Cotswolds for a week AND my sister and I went to Paris in October to meet a couple of our friends and family for Ireland for a few days

I attended 3 blogger events in the second half of the year and has the best time at all of them. As someone who’s blogged since 2012 I really felt out of the loop in terms of events etc. I think the events just made me realise so much more that I love blogging. I met so many lovely bloggers and to also be invited by companies is amazing. In turn it made me take my blog a bit more seriously.

This goes hand in hand with the last point but I DID IT. I got the train to the East Midlands Meet up and met up with people I didn’t know in the ‘real world’. I met so many lovely local bloggers and became so inspired by lots of them.

I’ve always wanted tattoos but never really known what I want. A couple of weeks ago I was browsing Tumblr and found a tattoo that I love. So, I’m drawing up ideas as I type and plan to get it ASAP.
Something similar to this too, ear piercings. I’ve always wanted two more lobe piercings but I’m seriously the biggest baby. I had my ears pierced when I was 11/12 and just have weird memories of it. Maybe I’ll get them done this year?

I really want to explore places in the UK more, and Northamptonshire (my county). There are so many beautiful places to see quite close to me so I really want to get out and about and see more.
I want to do more visits to London, to explore, to visit art exhibitions and craft fairs etc.
Finally, Travel. I’m planning on visiting quite a few different cities this year but I’ll expand on them at a later date.

As I said above, I’ve finally started learning to drive and I cannot wait to book and (hopefully) pass my test. I hope I can do this before I break up from Uni for the Summer so that I can go on some little UK adventures with family and friends.
Obviously to do this I’ll need a car so saving has begun and I’m starting to just have a little browse at the cars I’d be interested in buying. I can’t wait.

Lol, New Year Old Me. I’m the worst with deadlines. If it can wait until the last second then I’ll likely leave it until the last second. It causes me SO MUCH STRESS, but this is the year that it changes. In fact, I’m planning on doing some when I’ve finished writing this post.
Again, I’d like to finish this year with a good grade and knowing that I’ve tried my hardest.

I’d be really interested in advertising my skills this year to create things like blog headers and logos for bloggers and professional companies. I’ve got the time and it would be great to build up my portfolio too.

This year I want to focus so much of my energy on my shop to make it a success. This means loads of new products, finding reliable suppliers for printed goods and networking as much as possible. I’d love to see my Etsy shop reach 500 sales by the end of 2017!

The new products that I mentioned will include notebooks etc all hand drawn or printed by me. I’d also love to create limited edition hand printed pieces and can’t wait to spend more time creating lino prints and more things like that. I love the exclusivity of hand printed items and the fact that I’ve made it all myself.

Another line I’d like to work on is wedding stationary and things on them lines. I’ve just placed a big HobbyCraft order which includes pieces that will help me with this. So, all I’m going to say is look out because I’m planning so much for my little shop.

I really want to attend more blogger events this year. I had so much fun at the 4 events I went to last year. I also want to meet up with my blogger friends lots this year. Even if it’s just for a coffee and mind mapping session for new blog post ideas and inspiration.

Now, I certainly don’t believe that blogging is all about numbers but I do like setting myself some goals to attempt to achieve in terms of my following and other things so here goes

My aim for 2017 is to reach 1000 followers on each of these platforms.

I’d love to be able to post at least twice a week and at the moment that’s definitely possible for me. I need to plan in advance for when I know I’ll be busy so that I can post consistently.
I’d like to post a YouTube video at least once a month for now, maybe more in the future. Finally, I’d like to post 15 outfits on my blog this year.

So that’s it, my final post talking about 2016 and looking forward to 2017. I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for me and I hope you’re all excited to see my blog and shop evolve more throughout the year.
